How Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck Got its Start
Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck started in 1993, operating out of a converted 1953 bread truck. In 1996, they decided to park the truck at 56-505 Kamehameha highway in beautiful, historic Kahuku town.
Giovanni’s Shrimp Now Operates 3 Trucks
The team opened a second truck in 1997 on the edge of what was then an overgrown, swampy field at 66-472 Kamehameha highway in Haleiwa town. Back then, no one wanted that land. But today it’s one of the busiest spots in Haleiwa. The owner jokes that the truck is forever known know as “Across the street from McDonald’s”. A 3rd truck recently opened at 458 Keawe Street.
What Sets Giovanni’s Shrimp Apart
Aside from the delicious food, Giovanni’s is easily recognizable by the visitor signatures on the truck. Guests started to sign the truck to leave their mark, hoping to see their signature the next time they visited.
What are the Most Popular Dishes?
The most popular dishes are the garlic-y shrimp scampi and the hot and spicy shrimp.
